Final Essay
For me whats good about south central is that it has nice people. It also has good places to hang out at and eating places. I think the things I could improve are to clean the streets and the most of the graffiti on the walls. Yeah I do like living in south central because Its fun and the people that are here are cool and calm. South central has things that other cities or places have like the resturants.
In my opinion the first event that made south central what it is today is the L.A. riots. I think it is important because they renewed the streets and the places that were burned down and made them better. What I know about the L.A. riots is that they rioted because the police beat a guy named Rodney King up and the poice that beat him were put as “not guilty” even though they had the vieo to prove it. The L.A. riots were when the people of L.A. destroyed most of the city and burned down most of the things. This is important because because of the riots it was turned into a new city and with all new stuff. Its important because without it L.A. would be different.
The second event that makes south central what it is today is The Crack Epidemic. Its important because south central wouldn’t be how it is today, back then the crime rates went high up and it was cause of one event. I know that a guy named freeway Ricky Ross introduced crack cocaine to south central and crime went high up because the crack. Without this event s.c. wouldn’t have the people it has today.
My third event that made south central what it is today is immigration. It is important because not a lot of Latinos would be here. Me and most of the latino students in this class wouldn’t be here because immigration. This is important because this event makes the people and the things that are here in Los Angeles like the food and the culture. It wouldn’t be the same without all the people like the blacks and the latinos that used to live here before all the other people.
To summarize the three events I picked that makes south central what it is today are L.A. riots, crack epidemic, and immigration. I think in the future there would be more blacks and Latinos in this city it would probably be a lot more calmer than it is in these days. Crack epidemic was when everybody was doing crack, and L.A. riots was when there was a lot of destruction, also immigration is when south americans come to the U.S.A. .
Carlos Montes was the founder of the brown berets. He and the people that he was working with revealed police brutality to the public. In my opinion he was a great guy for fighting for the civil rights for all the people.

#15 Community Walk Reflection
1. This theory is about that if people treat things wrong others will too.
2. Some houses were on sale and uncared for. some were really messed up and trashy. I saw some parts of the streets had a lot of trash on them. Some of the business were tagged on and not cared for. I was looking at the other good looking places too.
3. I also saw some good looking things and cool things. There were a lot were small businesses. Most of the house were messed up and messy but some were cool looking. This tells me that the neighborhood is kinda bad but it is not as bad as other places. We need to try to make the community better and make it look cleaner and stuff. thats all the things i have to say about the trip.
